Directions
From Berlin
The regional train RB21 (direction Griebnitzsee) runs every 30 minutes from Berlin Ostbahnhof via Friedrichstraße, Alexanderplatz, Hauptbahnhof and Zoologischer Garten to the station Bahnhof Golm (travel time approx. 40 minutes). It is a 10 minute walk from the station to the Max Planck Institute or one stop by bus no. 605 or 606.
From Potsdam
From the central station take bus no. 605 or 606 to the Science Park Golm (travel time approx. 30 minutes). The regional trains RB22 (direction Berlin-Schönefeld Airport) and RB21 (direction Berlin Hauptbahnhof) also stop at Golm (travel time approx. 10 minutes).

Public transport
We advise to use the public transport websites https://www.bvg.de/en and https://www.vbb.de/en which have corresponding Handy softwares to buy tickets.
- To come from Berlin to the AEI, you require a ticket Berlin ABC. The tickets can be bought at the airport.
- To circulate in the Potsdam area from the AEI, you need a ticket Potsdam AB. The tickets can be purchased in the bus with cash and German EC Karte.
- To circulate from the AEI to Potsdam city center, you can use the buses 605-606 from the AEI to Luisenplatz Süd https://goo.gl/maps/Z54idm2G8P6sB3hDA.

Lunch possibilities at the conference venue
The canteen at the Max Planck Campus (open Monday-Friday, 7:30-15:30) located in the main building offers breakfasts (07:30-) and lunches (served from 11:30 till 14:30). You pay at the cashier using a prepaid card. You can buy the card (5 Euro deposit) and top it in the vending machine next to the entrance to the canteen. This machine accepts only cash and German EC Karte. In Golm
There are limited possibilities to have dinner in Golm.
Supermarket: Rewe
The fast food truck at the station or at the REWE (usually until 8pm).
